Contrahierba Mountain lies in Cordillera Blanca and offers a perfect opportunity to practice ice climbing of different difficulty grades.

Travel Program


Itinerary

Day 01: Huaraz – Carhuaz – Contrahierba mountain
We leave Huaraz at 6 am, driving all the way to Punta Olimpica, passing various towns such as Marcara and Carhuaz. We start walking before the tunel, going up in the direction of Contrahierba mountain. 3 hours driving. 2 hours walking.
After approximately 2 hours of walking, we reach the glacier of Contrahierba where we practice ice climbing. We can choose from different grades of difficulty. In the afternoon, we start descending back to Punta Olimpica. The transport takes us back to Huaraz.
